Established in 1988, Marshall and Associates www.marshallcounselling.ca was the first full time private counselling clinic in Nanaimo. Before long, clients were traveling to our office from other communities on Vancouver Island for psychological help.

Our extensive clinical experience and depth of professional training is key to the services we provide. The core of our practice: a strong commitment to ethics and our belief in peoples’ ability to become their best selves. With confidence in our skills, we support your journey to wellness, working in a non-intrusive way that respects and develops your best abilities and resources. Our success is measured in the tremendous change our clients accomplish as they work with us.

Marshall and Associates has always sought out the most effective treatments. In 1996 we were among the first on Vancouver Island to offer the powerful EMDR trauma therapy. We continue to offer effective programs, being well established in both traditional and innovative approaches.

At Generation Farms www.generationfarms.ca we offer Equine Facilitated Wellness to individual clients and groups and to patients from the Cedars at Cobble Hill Treatment Centre. Equine Facilitated Wellness is a psychotherapy specialty. Horses are partnered with people to promote client healing and connection with self and others. As pioneers in this holistic form of healing, we also offer professional training in the field of EFW.

Deborah Marshall has long been interested in what really creates positive change. Having explored neurofeedback in its early days, she is glad her timing corresponded with Brain State Technologies perfecting its sophisticated Brainwave Optimization.

People who have never considered or needed counselling are drawn to BrainWise. Sharpening sports skills, executive training, enhancing meditation practice and improving focus are possibilities.

Brainwave Optimization also offers a wonderful alternative to psychotherapy. A non-medical model approach, it does not use psychiatric diagnosis. By balancing and harmonizing the brain, change happens. People feel better.

Most of the clients we see for psychotherapy are helped with the counselling approaches we use. Some have to work hard to create the change that they want in their lives.
